I promise that this will be brief, everyone.
Just a few quick follow-ups from the March newsletter (which you can revisit easily enough as necessary):
First: A big thank-you to everyone who has already become a paid subscriber. Although the poll within the March issue, concerning preferred subscription benefits, remains open, I’ve already begun to take steps in response to the results to date.
Reminder: As I note in each and every month’s newsletter, everyone can find more opportunities (because I don’t manage to catch everything before sending each month’s issue) every week, for free, over on the Practicing Writing blog. And that’s not about to change anytime soon.
But in accordance with the evident interest, I’ve begun to send a weekly post filled with that same information via Substack as well—as a benefit for paid subscribers.
Here’s the one that went out to those paid subscribers last Monday. (I’ve un-paywalled it just this morning to give everyone a sense of what these posts look like; they depart slightly from what you typically find in the monthly newsletter—notably in their inclusion of “hyper-local” opportunities, including jobs, and in offering more extensive detail about payment for calls for submissions.)
If you, too, would like to receive an opportunity-laden #MondayMotivation post directly via Substack each week, may I encourage you to become a paid subscriber?
And there’s no time like the present, because….
The “Early-Adopter” discount subscription period that was announced in the March newsletter is halfway over!
Finally: A few people have written to ask if there’s a way to become a paid subscriber by check instead of using a credit card. It has taken me a little while to figure this out, but I believe that I’ve come up with a solution.
If this happens to be your preference, please mail your check (U.S. banks only, please) for the corresponding subscription amount to the address that should be appearing at the bottom of every Substack post you receive from me via email. [UPDATED TO ADD: THIS OPTION DOES NOT APPLY FOR MONTHLY SUBSCRIPTIONS, WHICH CAN ONLY BE PROCESSED VIA SUBSTACK.] The address:
Erika Dreifus
PO Box 58
New York, NY 10028
Please be sure to include a note that clearly indicates the email address to which your subscription should be linked. You will receive a notification of a “gift subscription” once I’ve received and processed your information.
Any checks postmarked through March 31 will be eligible for the discounted rate!
That’s all! Thanks for your patience and attention. And please look forward to the April newsletter, which will be out before we know it!
Warmly,
ERIKA
