Greetings, everyone:
Like lots of other people, I’ve just published my first note on Substack Notes, a new space for us to share links, short posts, quotes, photos, and more. (It also seems to be a potentially promising new environment for those of us who are finding Twitter to be increasingly inhospitable.)
As you know, my free Substack newsletter, The Practicing Writer 2.0, goes out just once each month. But for many (many!) years, I’ve been posting a lot of related content multiple times each week on the two blogs that are housed on my website.
I think it’s time—and perhaps past time— to make some changes regarding how all of this content is delivered. (Let’s just say that transitions are not my forte; I find technology-related transitions to be particularly challenging.)
Thus, one reason I hope you’ll join me on Notes is that I’m expecting to use it as a sounding board. I’ll be asking questions to find out what you would find most useful, and I’ll be asking for advice. Importantly, I hope also to use Notes to help you access resources that you’ve been missing if you’ve been depending exclusively on the monthly newsletter.
Right now, it’s all very new. (And I am a tad overwhelmed!) I thank you in advance for your patience and understanding as I learn to navigate my way around.
And, as I mention in that first Note: Now is a very good time to check in with those imminent deadlines!
Have a wonderful weekend,
ERIKA
How to join Notes
Head to substack.com/notes or find the “Notes” tab in the Substack app. As a subscriber to The Practicing Writer 2.0: A Newsletter from Erika Dreifus, you’ll automatically see my notes. Feel free to like, reply, or share them around!
You can also share notes of your own. I hope this becomes a space where every reader of The Practicing Writer 2.0: A Newsletter from Erika Dreifus can share thoughts, ideas, and interesting quotes from the things we’re reading on Substack and beyond.
If you encounter any issues, you can always refer to the Notes FAQ for assistance. Looking forward to seeing you there!
